I'm going to be in the minority here but I just can't stand buying BR movies.

I love the picture quality, there is no doubt about it. What I don't love is the Physical media itself. Switching discs, storing them, going to store to buy them.

I love my Apple TV for instant gratification. I wish there was more HD content to choose from, but oh well.

I just keep two backup drives of all my content to replace the fact I don't have a disc to fall back on.

If ripping BR and keeping the quality wasn't such a PITA, I might start to buy more of them, but for now digital content is the only way for me.

No it's not, though I do believe in 5-10 years downloads will be the norm for us techies.

I've got a fast connection and it only takes me 10 minutes to download a full 1080p film - but the quality is nowhere near as good as a full 1080p bluray. They really are the pinnacle of consumer video quality right now.

Bluray is only as much as a stop-gap as DVD and CD were.

Physical media will always be around.

Digital movies served over the webv are convenient, but physical media represents a better long-term investment, and the quality is currently better.
