Hello, i'm considering iPod Classic, i switched for android and functions like volume up/volume down are not working for me anymore. I own beats tour, beats pro and beats studio v2 2013. is ControlTalk(cable) working flawless like on my iphone 4?(volume up/vol down/skip to next track/last track/all functions like on my old iphone 4) Anyone could comment on that?

Yes, of course that's logic, but i remember apple introduced(i'm not sure) these functions to iPhone 3GS(device from 2009) and latest iPod Classic AFAIK is just from 2009, so i'm not sure if that's updated to work with these remote apple-specific cables or not. That's why i'm asking, i think it should work because...iphone 4 was rebaked iphone 3gs with new case and display, so i can call it "2009 technology" but i'm not sure if Classic is compatible.

Anyone who own latest classic, can at least tell me if apple included Apple remote+mic headphones or just normal apple headphones(old ones of course in both cases) If they include remote+mic ones that would mean for 99% it should work with Classic.

Just bought a new Classic, the headphones that came with it are the old school ones without the mic.( I think, but didn't take em out of their wrapper.) The new style headphones that come with the iPhone5s work great with it. The volume works, the mic works, and the pause/play works. Mine is the iPod Classic with the 2.0.5 firmware.:D

I recently bought a 7th gen 160gb classic to replace the 6th gen that died on me.

I can confirm all the mic functions work on 7th gen (using the 2013 Beats Studio).

None of the mic functions worked on my 6th gen model.
