Is current iOS 10 public beta same as developer beta?

I was thinking of installing the current iOS 10 public beta, thinking I'll beat the rush for the official next week. Is the current public beta the same as the developer beta?

The public beta is free, and comes a tiny bit after the developer beta, which isn't free.

If you want iOS10 and beat the rush, why not wait until after the release, rather than install a beta now and upgrade to a stable later (and having to wait until the rush is over).

I think the rush is a tiny bit of a myth. From all the upgrades I've done this year I've only had an issue once with their servers being unreachable.

Anyway, the difference is quite tiny. I don't think you'd actually be able to pick out 5 or 10 items that are so different you'd notice it.

Go for the public beta, and enjoy playing a bit earlier and getting familiar with it. If you find a bug though, report it 🙂

The latest public beta is the same build
as the latest developer beta.

There is no difference. PB is just a build or two behind DP. They are exactly the same. DP8 is literally PB7.

Developers will get GM on Wednesday after the event. The public won't get the official until the 1-2 weeks after that. Depending on the day the new iPhone ships. As of yet PB testers have never received GM. Could change this year but probably not as the GM is seeded for developers to submit apps to the App Store prior to the release.
