Hi All,

Ive not long had my Silver AWS but starting to wonder if i made the right choice in colour or if i should have got the Space Grey...

Basically just wondering if anyone else has similar views with their purchase, or are you happy with the choices you made when purchasing?

i'm not sure if i should've got the stainless steel or stick to my guns and keep the silver sport. functionally they're the same, and i don't even know if the shiny watch gives off the right image in the job i have right now...

however. my wife got me a milanese loop and i love it. it's so comfy and shiny and amazing, my favourite watch band ever. i still quite like how it looks with the sport but i know it'd look so much better with the stainless steel.

Thanks for your input... Yeah obvs the SS would have been my choice if it were more in my price range (new baby and not long been married) so opted for the sport... Really happy with my purchase until i see a SG version lol

I have the Milanese to and like you, i love it!! Love the durability/ flexibility of it and how it shimmers in the sun lol, defo my fav strap just not sure what itll look like if i do opt to change mine for the SG?

No regrets here. The SS one is very nice but I don't begrudge anyone who bought one. Functionally they're the same, and with a leather loop or other 3rd party band the Sport can be made to look fairly classy.

I seem to be the only one who really doesn't like the Space Grey watch, but each to his own!

what is it about the space grey youre not all that keen on? I havent physically seen one in person but dont think ive seen a picture that i dont like...

That matte look of a device looks great in some instances. For me personally I think it looks very cheap in the setting of where I work and it going with a lot of my business needs and offers less flexibility than the SS.

Not saying it is ugly as it definitely isn't but I think it factors into what you will be using it most for and where and also what type of device you want. A more sporty looking one or more of an elegant, flash look with the SS.

I prefer the SS.

I got the sgs and am very happy with it. I don't think it looks cheap and it's definitely more durable than I expected. So I'm happy with my purchase.

In the Sport line, I actually prefer the silver Sport over the space grey. I started off with a space grey, but upgraded to a SS. I just didn't like the dark matte look of the space grey once I had it on for a week. My wife opted for a silver sport, and she likes it a lot. She bought a Milanese Loop for it, which looks great.

If you are going to stick with the Sport line, the silver aluminum goes well with any of the bands and is a great choice, IMO.

I got the SGS after seeing them in the Apple Store - before that, I thought I wanted the SS one, but I found it too blingy and prefer the understated look of the SGS. I'm more than happy with my choice but I did spend a long time to decide before I got it :)

I'm actually probably more happy with my watch than I figured I'd be. Especially hardware wise I think they have some things they have to work out on software but love the look and feel, Bands have been surprisingly great, interface is good.

Honestly only problems I have is app speed want more faces (digital with complications beside utility) and contextually aware complications would be awesome. Like when at work I care about meetings after work I care about weather etc. overall I think Apple did an amazing job as a first gen product I think all of my issues are easily fixed.

The hardware is the stuff that would kill me but I honestly think they did a really great job thinking things through. They made compromises for sure but for my use I agree with pretty much all of them. I carry my phone with me, charge my stuff every day anyway, don't want to pay to add another device to a phone contract/use tethering already and think rectangle was a brilliant move. I clearly wouldn't try and speak for everyone but for my purposes they did a great job.

I'm satisfied with the 42mm SS model that I purchased. Only obstacle I am facing is the amount of lag while opening an app... Other then that, no further complaints.

i have a space grey sport, and I like it.

I think it looks slightly a little to gadget-y, and if I had a choice i'd switch to a more classic looking combination. I can't justify spending the money needed to get a stainless steel, so I still wouldn't get that (and the watch is buggy enough that it would annoy me to no end that i spent so much on a beta product).

I think the silver apple watch sport with a black leather loop would be the perfect combo of classic and modern looking.

PS. i seriously run into an annoying bug like, once a day. today, for example, imessage stopped working on my watch. i had to try everything "again" as an sms text. :(

It's funny how people talk about dressing up the sport. I always find myself dressing down the SS with sport bands.

I bought a silver aluminum Apple Watch sport with a white sport band. I originally wanted the blue one but at the last second thought better of it and went white to have a more neutral color since I can't justify Apple's prices for another band right now. Hoping that third-party bands come out with the "made for Apple Watch" to make sure that I'm purchasing a genuine one but for less than first party bands. Really like that classic leather and link bracelet though.

I bought space gray sport returned it doe SS found the SS was way way too shiny and was hard to wear in a casual setting. So I returned it for the SGS with the black band.
Don't get me wrong the SS is a very high quality watch! It's really sweet but I love the Space Gray look better.

Easier to dress down the SS vs dress up the SGS which made my decision for the SS my final one.

Tough call. Personally I think the Silver is more versatile if you want to switch between a variety of bands, but really it's all subjective. For example I think a grey or black watch looks good with a brown leather band, but not everyone agrees. I went with silver because I liked the look of the silver Sport with the blue band...and I also knew it would look good with a brown band, a black band, and whatever else I want to pair it with.

Personally I think the stark contrast between the black glass and the silver aluminum makes the watch look smaller and sleeker on my wrist (I have 170mm wrists and the 38mm silver AWS). Maybe it's just me though. The Space Grey looked awfully nice in the store, but I have been very happy with my silver one. I usually wear it with a brown leather strap or a black leather loop knockoff. I also like it with the blue sport band that it came with.

i'm in, basically, the same situation. i figured before i got it, accidents happen and if she pulls it off my wrist, the sport is a lot cheaper to replace...

but on the flip side, our house work came in under budget and while the sport was more appropriate at the time, i probably could afford the stainless steel. and the milanese loop won't fall off my wrist. ugh. decisions decisions. i asked online last night about swapping it for the difference outside of warranty, but they said i'd have to take it in to the genius bar and let them decide. but first i have to decide if it's worth the extra cost or i save it for the inevitable apple watch 2 with better battery (or replacement apple watch if something does happen to this one)

I got the space gray and I'm happy, I guess if you're not or have some level of buyers remorse then go and get the model you want.

i decided earlier it's not worth trying to upgrade, and definitely not worth repurchasing the SS right now if i can't trade in my sport.

then i saw a few around... and they're... soooo... shiny...
