Phishing message delivered to my inbox. So obvious, yet gmail can't figure it out.

This morning 50% of messages (4 out of 8) in the spam box were legitimate.

Still no fix. This morning, 3 out of the 4 messages in my spam box were legitimate.

Today was another amazing day. Got 3 nasty phishing messages in my inbox, and a whole bunch of legitimate messages in spam. Google is absolutely killing it!

Google just outdid itself.

I sent a message to myself (with photos attached, so I could then access it from a different machine), and that message went to spam!

FYI - versus sending it to yourself, you could just leave it in Drafts.

Additionally, were both machines Apple devices? If so, and you're signed into your Apple ID on both, you could access the images via Photos...

Photos were taken on iPhone, needed to be accessed on Windows laptop. I do that a lot. First time it's ever gone to spam. I didn't see it in the inbox or in the sent folder on the phone. Was surprised and decided I'd look into it later. Later when on the laptop, I saw it in the spam folder. I regularly monitor and empty the spam folder because as this thread suggests, I routinely find legitimate messages in there.

My spam filter works as it should. I just looked in there and there are three emails, two actual spam and one eBay terms of service which is fine with me. All other eBay emails get delivered to my inbox.

I saw a great Gmail hack to find out how the email got leaked. You can add a "+" to your email and put a string after. For example, emailuser+MacRumors@gmail.com could be your email for MR. If the email from MR was leaked, you would know because the spam would contain the +MacRumors string.
