Is going from 2.3 GHZ to 2.7GHZ dual core worth the extra $300?

I am currently a student and am just going to buy a new macbook pro to do my daily computing. Nothing major. I am hoping to resell it at the next revision.

For basic use it will make everything work slightly faster OS, Apps, etc...

For games the HD3000 is still going to be the bottleneck.

Nope. It's not even worth buying the current revision at current prices.

I was deciding between these two also. I went for the 2.3Ghz with a 128GB SSD in the end. Notice a SSD upgrade more, only very high end users are going to need 2.7Ghz of i7 power.. and it's likely it'll get replaced next year due to the rubbish graphics in the 13"

I doubt they'll have a problem selling them.

I have no idea what you are talking about, as this has nothing to do with my reply.
