iPhone 12 Is going from iPhone 11 pro to iPhone 12 Mini actually step backward/downgrading?

Anyone else did that? Yes, I’ll loose zoom and smaller battery. Not sure if I should just stick to 11 pro or go with the mini. Any thoughts?

Do you use the telephoto lens much now? Is battery life important for you or are you always around a charger? Those are the key questions you should be asking yourself. The 12 mini still takes awesome photos and videos. If you don’t use the telephoto lens much, then you’re not missing out on much.

Apart from the new design and night mode on the ultra wide there isn’t anything to win (Ok the obvious but also mehhh 5G, Magsave).

The only reason you should be considering that is if you like the idea of having a smaller screen. The 11 pro is still a great phone. I'd say stick with it.

I’ve gone from a X to a mini and will be sending the mini back. The screen is too small for personally but it is nice in the hand. Il be honest going from an 11 pro isn’t really worth it.

I’m a heavy user of my phone between home and work. My battery life is down to 86% on one year old 11 pro. The small factor, better modem than intel, and night mode on wide angle are very tempting. At some point if I keep the 11 pro I’ll need to get a new battery. Otherwise it’s fine phone.
So mainly the size and battery.

I do on occasions but mostly wide and regular lens.

Ok i understand the urge of the new device. I had the mini in hands in the store and it’s really nice to hold.
but for the price of the mini you will get 10 batteries😉

i myself run a XS and still undecided if to get either a 11pro or mini as they are basically available for the same price...

Battery life between mini and XS should be in the same ball park which is fine for my daily use but of course more is a nice plus.
Does anyone have 1st hand experience?

Haven't monitored closely but it looks like my mini lasts roughly as long as my X (with 90% battery life). It's not great but not terrible either.
