Best TV is the sony which uses samsung panel, after that is samsung then LG. Sony is always better because of how it handles motion and colors for movies which is where most TV’s are graded on. For gaming is either samsung or lg. After those 3 top brands i would say the next best 3 are tcl,hisense, vizio.
 
Samsung went the HDR10+ route to avoid paying licensing fees to Dolby.

Unfortunately that particular format is essentially dead.
I'm not sure this is entirely accurate? While I've been educating myself on these HDR formats I've found that a lot of inexpensive TVs do not support Dolby Vision but they do support HDR10+. Millions of people have these TVs, so creating content/serving content that supports both HDR formats will be beneficial to creators and streaming services. In theory, at least.

I thought Sony used LG panels (RGBW OLED technology). Samsung is the only ones that use RGB.
