Why is iDisk so slow on my mac. (mid 2010 iMac, latest ver. of OS10.6)

I've got my iDsk mounted on my Mac desktop at home, connected to a fast ADSL2+ connection.

There is considerable lag browsing though the folders via finder for file icons to pop up (until spot-light does its indexing thing).

Using the web interface from the same machine is 3x faster.

Using iDisk as a mounted server on my XP desktop at work is faster. It is even faster using the iDisk App (and 3rd party apps) on my iPhone over 3G!

From what I've read it has something to do with the implementation of webdav in osx. You can try using something like Transmit, I found it considerably speeds it up; or you can use Dropbox.
