Just upgraded my iPhone 5 to IOS9 and iPhoto 9.5.1 is not finding the photos on the phone. Is IOS 9 compatible with Mac OSX 10.9.5 & iPhoto 9.5?

I spoke with Apple. iOS 9.3.1 is not compactible with iPhoto-Mavericks :( Image Capture not working as well. ---it mean, Maverick not working correctly with Maverick.
