Has anyone had any problems with iOS 8.2 on their 5S?

Researching before I upgrade. Because it's apple. Thanks.

I had the same question and was hoping to get a quick answer, but apparently there is something wrong with asking.

I am more than happy to slog through the dozens of threads here to find the simple little piece of info I was looking for.

Um what if I say yes and you have issues or I say no and you are good to go? Basically everyone has a different experience and what is quite acceptable to me may not be to you and vice-versa.As with every software/firmware update YMMV. So I say go for it.

Yes. It runs just as well as it would on a 6 or 6 plus from my experience.

Totally agree with the above. It's always classified as YMMV. What one person considers a bug or annoyance may not bother the next person. There are plenty of YT videos available. All one has to do is a search on YT.

Here's one, a comparison of a 4s running 8.2 vs 7.1.2

there is no such thing as ios 8.2. apple's last official version of ios is 3.1. what you found is most likely a virus. please be careful with what you install on your phone.

Was interesting. Looked like somethings were faster in IOS 7 other things were faster in IOS 8.

I know this thread is really about the 5S but I came across it while searching for 4S/iOS 8.x threads and wanted to say…..

Thank you very much for posting the video!

I've been on the fence about updating my 4S from 7.1.2 to 8.x and that video was very helpful. Obviously "YMMV" applies but after watching the video I did the update through iTunes over the top of 7.1.2 (not "setup as new") and so far so good (keeping fingers crossed/knock on wood….LOL).

It was a little slow to load music, photos, msg's, etc… when I first opened them but I suspect it's still indexing, or what ever a new OS does when you first install it. But once opened/closed and then reopened it feels pretty close to 7.1.2 speeds even on my 4S.

Now I get to explore some of the new features :)

Thanks,

Jon…

Didn't you start that thread about Apple's "criminal" handling of iOS updates?

But, if the update promises you some goodies, you're now a willing accomplice to their felonious behavior?

Oh ok, never thought of "no block quote" means directed to the OP of a thread but it makes sense now that you mention it.

I learned something new today…..thanks :)

Jon…

Wasn't clear to me either. Usually I will write: "OP, didn't....". Ive been online since compuserve so I'm not new to the Internet.

I'm Just a normal user who would like to stay up-to-date with software updates provided that they will not hinder my device. A true upgrade, not a promised upgrade which has negative consequences.

A couple of colleagues and friends have updated no problems AFAIK. I think you should be ok. Usually one generation behind is ok with ios upgrades. Usually two but I have noticed more problems seem to arise.

Nothing wrong with asking btw. :D

8.2 is the best version of iOS 8 so far on my iPhone 5s. I'd go so far as to say it's a solid as 7.1.3 was there at the end, which has been a long time in coming. If you're on 8.x, you should definitely get onto 8.2.
