I want to purchase one, but is it true that the iPad is sold out everywhere? Is it possible to find one at like best buys or do I have to wait until Apple get another shipment in?

I'm sure there are many places that still have them in stock, but you're probably better off calling ahead to be sure.
The rumors of Best Buys only get 15 per store were untrue. Some stores got 100. They aren't sold out yet but should be by mid week.
At 8pm Saturday night, my Best Buy in Whitehall, PA had all three models in stock.... They closed at 9pm and were not open today so chances are they still have some! For how long and will they get more who knows? But definitely call ahead... I did at 7pm at night not thinking they would have any but they did. Good luck!
The Best Buy near me got 40 of each type.
I walked into that Best Buy at around 6 pm on Saturday, and they sold the last 16GB iPad 2 minutes earlier to the guy that I saw walking out with one.
The Apple Store at Century City had plenty of each type, and I walked right into the store at around 6:20 pm on the same day. I walked out with my iPad 10 minutes later.
I was at 3rd Street Promenade this afternoon, and the Apple Store there had plenty of iPads.

Not sure how many my best buy had, but I called at 5pm Saturday and was told that they had then all in stock, walked in at six and was out in a few minutes.
Ditto, bought mine at Best Buy, they had plenty... skipped the pretense of the Apple Store to boot.
They were still selling quite a bit of iPads at the Providence Place Mall when I went around 6PM on launch day.
Mine got cases in right as everyone was checking out. A guy came through asking who wanted them and they were gone before he could make it the front of the line.
Darn :| The Apple website says they won't ship until late April and I didn't think to ask when they would be getting more cases at Best Buy... Perhaps I'll give them a call tomorrow.
My plan is to wait and see what new cases the developers come out with. I didn't really see anything that I liked at the Apple Store.

I doubt it's going to "sell out" or else Apple didn't learn a damn thing from previous product launches... Let's not try to pull another Nintendo Wii... sheesh.
From what I could tell stores had plenty in stock. I plan on calling ahead this evening to be sure and purchase mine.
They actually did whatever they could to avoid this since they split the launch to 2 different events: one for the WiFi model and another for the 3G. They also allowed people to order the iPad in advance so they are probably aware of the demand for the device.
Best Buy in Youngstown,OH still has all 3 models. I was told by the manager that a lot of people came in to play with them, but not many bought them.
