I would wait at this point. For $100 more when the Mini 4 is released (and likely much less if you wait for a good sale) you will, at the least, get a A8 processor, and at the most an A9 and more RAM.

Agreed. I would wait and see what happens at today's event. But, if a new one comes out, buying an mini 2 would mean that you are two generations behind. So, maybe you should go with a mini 4.

It's a great buy, but if you wait a bit you can probably get an even better deal. They were $225 leading up to Black Friday last year and will probably reach under $200 this fall with the mini 4 coming out.

That's true, but in every way other than the TouchID sensor, the Mini 2 and Mini 3 are the same machine. IMO, the Mini that's the worst buy is the Mini 3: it's more expensive than the 2, but has the same SoC and RAM.

yes the iPad mini is still a good buy to get.you can get a refurbished iPad mini 2 32gb for 300 dollars in there refurbished store.i had to get the iPad mini 3 128 gb so that i could put my tv shows and some of my movies on there.and my e-books and graphic novels.

What's with dredging up all the three-month old iPad threads?

Hello all.
I currently have an iPad mini 1. I use it mainly just for stuff like YouTube web browsing, watching NHL (go Bolts!) and other simple entertainment stuff. It has gotten a bit slow and laggy lately, and I really would like that retina screen. So would an iPad mini 2 refurb be a good buy? They're only $300 from Apple. I would likely get it within the next few months. Would it be a wise purchase, or should I hold on to my mini 1 and wait for new iPads to come out this fall?
Thanks in advance!

If you are able to hold out I would wait until Black Friday. Last year staples put the iPad mini's brand new 16gb on for $199. I was able to get just under $100 on Ebay for my mini 1 so $100 to upgrade wasn't bad. I imagine there will be some screaming deals this year on the mini 2.
