Is iPad sold in US SIM locked ?

Anyone have any idea is the iPad sold in US locked to any carrier like AT&T ?

I intend to bring it back home after my studies few months later....

Any advise will be good.

If you buy it direct from the Apple store then it is sim unlocked.

No, all iPads are unlocked.

It is not locked but for now, but the sim-card is different (smaller) than traditional tmobile/att sim cards. Not sure about compatability, you probably can't modify and insert your t-mobile sim card.

The card might work (if you modified it), but the radio antennas built into the iPad don't work on T-Mobile's 3G frequencies, so it wouldn't actually get a signal anyways.
