Everywhere. It may or may not be interesting to you, but doubling the screen refresh rate is hugely noticeable, especially from a low base of 60Hz. It's extremely perceptible, and moving backwards from >100Hz to 60Hz is a huge degradation in user experience. This 120hz, what is so ‘must have’ about it and where would I notice the difference from the current supposed brilliant experience?

To compare, simply use a 10.6" iPad Pro, followed by the iPad Air 3.
Um, you can't see it in the videos, unless you're watching it on a high refresh screen. You seem to have your mind made up, which is fine, however you did ask why people state it's a game changer. Visually, high refresh rate (not just phones) has perceptibly the same if not more of an impact as resolution increase.I’ve seen the comparison videos and to be honest i’ll be happy with 60Hz.
I have made my mind up, it’s not something I need or would miss. I’m not someone who is interested in Pro iPhones though and this feature seems to only be demanded by enthusiasts. I am not one so I guess that is a huge bonus for me.Um, you can't see it in the videos, unless you're watching it on a high refresh screen. I've got 2017 iPad Pros (first iPads to have ProMotion). Personally, high refresh rate is nice to have but something I could live without. However, I read a lot (text and comics) so going back to a 132 ppi display is something I'd absolutely, absolutely hate.Um, you can't see it in the videos, unless you're watching it on a high refresh screen. Well yeah i think those who buy non pro models it’s not a big deal but if you are buying a pro device for me it simply has to have it. Buying say a £1100-£1200 phone with no 120hz? I personally think it’s poor.
The 12 and 12 max is better value without question.
Leaks today say reverse wireless charging is happening at least on the Pro models and 15w wireless charging is added.
Still not really features worth $1000+ IMO
I recently went back to my 11 pro max after using the s20+ and boy does it feel sluggish in comparison.
It might not be just the 60hz difference and it could also be that I am using ios14 beta but I found it really jarring.

My iPhone is primarily for business and pleasure but I do very little media consumption on it in terms of videos. It would be lost on me I think and not to mention I’d never spend £1+ for a phone when a £700 offers enough but thats me.

I do understand what it is and as I say, it’s not something I necessarily need nor would I pay for extra just to have. If it’s included on all iPhone 12’s then great, but if it’s just a feature added to the Pro Max to justify its obscenely high price, then I’m more than happy not to be bothered about it. I don’t have any issues scrolling now and I’m using an 8+. The experience is already fluid and I’m happy overall. I’m all for choice and in favour of improving the experience but it’s a subtle feature and being hyped like it’s the difference between a poor phone and a brilliant phone. It’s not, it’s a nice addition that isn’t essential. The screen refresh rate has zero to with media consumption. It increases frame rate of the OS making everything including scrolling more fluid.
EVERYONE would get a benefit out of it since it enhances even basics like scrolling. I do question the allegiances of people who say they dont want it; why not have the option? Who is being hurt with the option to increase the frame rate of the OS?

What has ‘allegiance’ got to do with anything? Was that the right word you were looking for?
For you perhaps.Sure, that’s fine. I could completely live without an iphone, but wouldn’t like to. It’s that kind of thing.
EVERYONE...
Really? I mean honestly, I think you’re basing the general population on your personal perception.
You really need to first grok how little attention most people pay to these new features. It’s enough for any vendor to paint something as “new and shiny” to get people to buy into it.
Look at 5g for example: the moment Android phones came out with “5g”, folk were all “why doesn’t Apple have 5g yet” despite the fact that, not only was 5g availability severely limited, but that most of the purported 5g chips were not ready for full 5g (The Moto Z3 came out August 2018 with a 5g upgrade available- despite the fact only 2 cities at the time had any sort of 5g availability)
Didn’t make a difference though. People thought it was faster and better, so they brought into the hype.
Hype, exhibit A:

So, is 90Hz and 120Hz all that and a bag of chips, really? Or is it a nice combo of Hype and potential functionality?
For general consumption, whilst a higher refresh rate might appear to be smoother, it comes at the cost of battery life. Refreshing the display either half as much again to 90Hz has a price - more so at 120Hz.
So, now, back to your "Everyone" again.
If you think "Everyone" would notice this effect, then you seem to have a massively elevated view of most people's perceptions.
Sure, the feature will sell, it's "new and shiney", but as to if everyone will notice? Nope, they'll claim they will, but the reality is far different.
Is it pointless tech? Heck no, it certainly has its place, but right now, just like 5g, not all ProMotion 90Hz and 120Hz features are ready to be exploited.
Hard to say until we get the keynote honestly. We are just speculating until then.I don't know about you people but I feel like the 2020 iPhone will be a very boring update. 5G is neat but the rest of it seems mediocre. Just nothing that seems exciting or innovative . I would love Touch ID built into the screen, 120 hz screens, and no notch and none of those things are likely in iPhone 12. Maybe Apple is better than usual with covering up leaks but this seems like a boring update. Lesser update than the " S " updates of the past.
Ok well you said media consumption which makes no sense. Even for "work" 120hz would be beneficial
Ok well you arent the target consumer then. We are talking purely about the Pro models ($999+); Apple BARELY got OLED in the lower end models finally, they arent getting higher refresh anytime soon regardless. Nor was it ever eve rumored for the non-Pro models. We are referring to the rumor on the Pros allegedly not happening.
When you use a 120hz iPad you will understand it though. I dont want 120hz is something no one says; maybe not need but all want it once they use it.
And yes allegiances. No one should have an allegiance to a faceless corporation tasked with separating you from as much money as they can over the consumer. If you dont have a need for it great, but that is different than should a $1000+ phone in 2020 have a higher refresh rate when everyone else is doing it just fine.
