Voted "other."

My iPhone 3G (16GB white) has been pretty much trouble-free since day 1. No dock connector misalignment, no light leak, no dust under the cover. The 3G reception has always been good (4-5 bars) except for a few locations that I've been to. I've only experienced a couple of dropped calls.

Apple's Worst Product

The following is, bar none, apple's worst product ever.
It may even be one of the bottom ten computer products of all time, just a few spots above Windows Vista.

Frustration.

I'm unsure if it's the 3-hour restore times, 30 minute backups, constant application crashing, or the SMS keyboard lag that I get annoyed at. It quite possibly is all of them. I hope all of these issues are resolved in future updates. But for now, I am only disappointed.

The Hockey-Puck Mouse, Dalmation/Flower Power iMacs, PowerMac 5200/LC, Apple ///, etc.

I still blame most of the electronic issues on Tin Whiskers, which are a direct result of RoHS.

No, the worst product has got to be the milk crate speakers or the special Apple Leather Case. What a pile of pap that year was for product launches.

One More Thing: we've all lost our minds.

P.S. At least the hockey puck mouse didn't jam up with lint every five minutes rendering it useless!

if vista is so bad why do so many millions of people use it?

Que? We are talking about worst products, not failed products. The iPod HiFi was awesome, just way too expensive, same for the leather case.

The hockey puck mouse, you couldn't tell which way is up, and the ball always got covered in FOD.

The pole choices don't make much sense to me, so I didn't vote.

In regard to my iPhone build quality, I haven't found one flaw or defect.

I also own an iMac that I have been very happy with - no problems; and an Mac Mini I bought as a refurb from the web site that if I didn't know it was a refurb you would not be able to tell.

No, not you. Your poll.

care to explain why?is it just annoying and useless or badly written and hard to understand?of course,I was trying to make it easy to understand,failed..i just wanted to know if regarding build quality it was one of the worst Apple offered us and if it was any worse than the first iphone, too many hardware issues due to bad qc

People don't seem to realize that Apple's been around for over 30 years now

I vote the Apple /// their worst product. Horrid design (overheated making the chips pop out; Apple's official solution was to lift the computer and drop it on your desk), crippled Apple II compatibility mode, little software, and high pricetag got it there.

Do your research before declaring a product "Apple's worst product" :)

I did search and only found failed products,a few of them mentioned in this thread..is it really not clear at all I was just considering the build quality control?the out of the box faults?I'm not talking about bad engineering or Apple policies, just bad quality control, that's it,I am young so I really wasn't using Mac OS back in the 80s or 90s,but I think it's possible that in the last years this is one of the worst quality controlled item shipped by Apple
Even iPod touch has less issues related to hardware,I do remember cores shutting down for MBAs,bad screens for MBPs,bad GPUs for Mac Pros if I'm not mistaking, bad plastics for Macbooks or iPods but not that many threads about these products being sh*tty out of the box,and I might be mistaking, that's the reason for the Poll

Failed Product: A Product that does not perform on the market.

Bad Product: A Product that is of poor quality and hurts the reputation of the company making it.

This thread is talking about the latter, not the former of these definitions, and the iPhone does not fall into either, as a small minority of people are having problems, they just happen to be very boisterous.

umm... do you think the poll is bad?
  • yes
  • most likely
  • another option that looks like the ones above
  • other

My iPhone 3G illustrates pristine Apple quality and engineering. Not sure what you got.

I love how there are no options in the 3G's favor basically making us pick a choice that says it's not good at all or the same as the previous iphone

my only issues are with software; 3rd party Apps not Starting/media goes missing/restoring at least once a week, Typing Lag, And general lag when apps are starting
