Everyone who sees my new iPhone 4 goes nuts over it Everyone who sees it wants one. No one gives a crap about the reception issues. I have had women tell me how sexy the phone is, and these are hot women, not the teeny bopers.

I liked my 3GS just fine, and the wifi did get better reception on it. But the iPhone 4 is simply in a class above my old 3GS.

its not perfect yet, but I think we all know if the issues are resolved this phone will be top notch..

3 days... 1.7 MILLION

I really cant stand all these threads bashing the iphone 4 1.7 millon sold shoots possibly the best hd video on any phone, Highest resolution screen, Awsome battery, super fast, But yet everyone is revolving around one bug that can easily be fixed by reajusting the phone by 1 inch seriously look at the facts.

Although i believe this is a troll post i'll answer seriously: no.

I'm far from an Apple fanboy. Have never owned a Mac. Always considered Apple products "niche" (at least on computer side) and i was never into Ipods etc. Iphone 3G was my first Apple product. I liked it, but it wasn't the end-all be-all.

Iphone 4 is just a huge upgrade over the 3G in almost every way. Camera (still and motion) is totally awesome for a dad with a 1.5 year-old. All those moments i use to miss or would try to get on my old phone (but miss due to lag) or even those i managed to get but weren't that great due to camera quality...anyway i'm no longer missing them. Camera is outstanding. Just spend the weekend on a lake with family and took a bunch of movies/pictures and i'm having fun making them into a movie with imovie and will be posting it to facebook for all relatives to see.

Outside of that, speed improvement is awesome. The new display is incredible. Love the new OS (which would have been real slow and still not get all the features like multitasking on my old phone). Speaker is louder. I haven't even tried facetime yet but that's not why i bought the phone. My GPS app (Navigon) is also working 100x better than when i used it on the 3G...really no comparison.

Saying all that, i will say i have been able to replicate the signal issues. It depends on how strong the signal is. when i'm outside i can't replicate but in the office or in my basement i can. But- i haven't dropped a single call due to it yet and since i always hold my phone on my fignertips when talking i doubt it ever bothers me. I will say if i naturally held my phone in a way that caused the signal loss every time...that would be a pretty big hurdle to cross for me because i don't like having cases/bumpers for my phone. But, doesn't really affect me the way i hold it so don't really care.

anyway, from a person who was never that much in to Apple - this is the most amazing gadget i've ever owned despite the antenna issue.

hope that answers your question.

I live 57 miles from work. I routinely take conf calls from the road during the commute. There are about 4 places during the trip I was guaranteed to drop with my iP3G. I've driven back and forth to work now twice since the iP4 and I've only dropped once. This evening I was stuck in traffic and it took nearly two hours to get home. I didn't drop one time - first time ever for that duration on the road.

Looks like you need either a new job, or a new house... ;-)

some of you people (trolls) on MR are ridiculous...

Laughing stock my ass! This phone is awesome! Right now, i'm almost embarrassed to be part of the MR community. I feel as though my IQ and dignity are plunging just for posting in this thread.

Readjusting the phone by 2 inches? Considering that's 50% of the entire size of the phone, that's quite a lot.

If you could just tape the phone to your ear, then you wouldn't have the reception issue. Is that better?

dude my phone never had one dropped call yet and i get great 3g service and love my iphone. i guess i'm one of the lucky ones..

what he meant to say was readjusting the phone by 2mm

The Microsoft Kin phone just got a hefty price slash for lack of sales. And people will line up tomorrow at ATT stores to buy the iP4, in spite of the known issues. So, I have to say, no.

Well, that's cause the Kin...well, I really don't understand who thought the Kin was a good idea or the marketing behind it. The ads are horrible, the only reason I bothered looking up the Kin was viewing the ads I was really confused what advantage the phone had. I mean it looked so lame it made me curious about why it would sell (surely they didn't think what they advertised would actually sell the phone compared to all the other competition out there. Gee, it takes photos and uploads them to a server for you... so what?! My phone can do that. Maybe not automatic but my phone can do a whole lot more. A blackberry could do a whole lot more. An Android phone could do a whole lot more... I guess it's better than a plain old cellphone but you'd think people who would want to use that kind of functionality would want more than what a regular cellphone could do anyways).

Then when I looked it up, from what I've read, it doesn't even do well what it claims its specialty is (twitterring and stuff like that). It has a bigger version that's a very weak smart phone and very limited.

I really don't get it. I still don't get what was going on in the minds of the people who decided to market this was. If anyone would care to explain why the Kin would be succesful or at least why they thought it would be succesful, I'm still curious.

I am still trying to figure out why the number of units sold has anything to do with the fact that they're seriously flawed devices.

If anything the number of units sold only makes the whole ordeal even more hilarious to someone who isn't an Apple apologist.

No, it's not the laughing stock. But I will admit, every time I break out my iphone 4 now, or tell someone I got one, it's no longer a discussion of how cool it looks or how nice the display is...all i get is "I heard those have horrible reception issues." And I honestly can't defend it, because mine have been bad.

No longer are people talking about the huge upgrades this phone has, it's become solely about not being able to make calls on it. The excitement level has really been diminished, at least for me. That being said, I love it and will def be keeping it, but it has taken a HUGE fall from what it was expected to be.

Everytime a Ferrari blows my doors off I laugh at the fact that the car got no trunk space.

Not if this all blows over in a few days with a software fix. You’re right if this turns into a recall.

Its has a correlation that shows that there doing something right.
