Since the SDK for the iPhone soon will be released, will it be possible to integrate Flash into Safari somehow?

Flash will only happen when Adobe releases a plugin. No one knows when this will happen.

Isn't the real problem that Apple doesnt Want do integrate Flash?

...due to a pure hatred towards heavy flashfiles like ads 'n stuff?

By stuff do you mean "a good portion of the web"?

Yeah Apple doesn't want to add something that will make their phone even more desirable.

    Put away the tin hat.

Adobe has to release the plugin, or give Apple the rights to code it.

Adobe is just rolling out an updated version of the mobile flash plug-in. That has to be ported over. That relies on Adobe.

flash is for adverts and games nowadays and real web designers are really pushing to true web standards now, also apple wants to control the sdk and web apps route - they dont want adobe to control it, i personally hate flash, slow, resorse intensive, this would run your iphones battery right down, nice not getting all those annoying flash adverts

i Think you should be able to turn it on and off for when you are on a wifi and when on edge. That seems to me like the best possibility

Exactly, why doesnt he (jobs, that is) let us have the OPTION to use Flash or not, if now the reason should be the flash ads.

Hopefully (but doubtfully) darngooddesign is right and all that needs to be done is for Adobe to release a fix...
...though I've heard about a thing called Flash Lite, which is actually used in several mobile devices that would do just fine in the iphone/touch. But please, darngooddesign, convince me that its Adobe's fault and not Apple's flash-is-bad-for-the-iphone-mind...

Edit: And speakerwizard, even though youre right about most Flash things being games and ads, there are still A LOT of sites that uses flash.

Btw, arent Apples ads Flash based? Wouldnt they be interested in yet another channel for advertising? Since not every iPhone/touch user is an Apple-freak.

Apple wants Mobile Safari to be used as much as possible, otherwise it wont be viewed as a real and complete browser, so its in their best interest to allow a Flash plugin, but nothing is going to happen until Adobe, who controls the code, releases a plugin for the iP.

SWF, while not officially called a standard, is a standard method for delivering dynamic content and site construction; by that I mean all browsers support it just as they support JPEGs and other universally used elements. If you only think of it as a vehicle for ads and games you spend too much time at sites that only have those things.

    Sure would be great!

I've been having a blast programming in flash, so hopefully by the time the plugin comes out I'll have a heafty amount of content I can start turning over to the iPhone.
