I see there is a voicemail option to have voicemail, is it free? Or you need to pay for the provider

Which provider? It's free with AT&T and Verizon. Not sure about anyone else.
 
It's 2014 and there's still providers charging for voicemail?

Wow. You should find a new provider that isn't stuck in 1996!
 
You need to ask Bell

iPhones don't automatically get free voicemail. It depends on your plan.
 
As far as I know in the U.S all carriers Visual Voicemail is part of your phone package and YES it is free.
 
For me it's £1 a month or free on monthly contract of £34 per month or something like that... I'm with orange!
 
It's free for me, if it's not possibly consider signing up for Google Voice if it's applicable in your region. That's what I use so I can have Vmail's texted if needed and of course Google Voice has a handful of other handy features.
