Started by wiping 7+ and X screens with a moistened microfiber cloth for that factory fresh clean. Same case on each--Speck Presidio Sport.

Lee jeans, after front pocket turned inside out and shaken/inspected, as I always do before starting the day with my phone in the pocket. Nothing else in the pocket-ever (nothing but Glock 42 in other front pocket-ever where legal).

10 mins for each phone in pocket, 5 minutes out and set face down on clean microfiber cloth, then 10 mins back in. I like a clean screen and when enough builds up that it's visible in dark backgrounds, I wipe the screen. Don't like the idea of wiping the X screen more and risk of scratching with accidental grain of dirt, etc.

What is your experience?

I don't think it's any different from previous phones. You do have the lip of your case right up against the screen though so I can see more dust collecting there. Not really anything to do with the screen itself though.

My thoughts also, but after a couple days carrying and noticing more dust I decided to do my little test with fresh jeans and to start the day. Gathers much more than that in more than 20 mins. I'm constantly wiping the X throughout the day. Seems to have more static cling than the 7+.

Because it’s new. As the phone breaks in, it’ll become less static cling

Would love that to be true. Don't remember it that way for the 7+ though, which I got a few months after launch.

It's because the bezel of your 7+ is white so you don't notice the dust on the edges of the screen. Your X is black therefore you notice it more. Same thing happened to me when I went from a silver 6s+ to a black 7+.

I'm only looking at the "screen" part of the screen--black parts on both devices.

This is my exact thought. My X certainly doesn't collect anymore dust that my previous iPhones did. I more or less think it's due to the lip of the case you have on your X.

Sometimes cases can be the worst culprit. I use my iPhone caseless and I don't attract any more dust than any other iPhone that I own.
