Keyboard cover always a good idea, after 6 months you will see the grimy difference

I use a RadTech ScreenSavrz instead. Seems to be the best of both worlds. Keeps my keys from making weird marks on the screen when closed, but I use the keys naked when open. Great product.

If you like to drink coffee while you work then, yeah, you should have a keyboard cover. If you never drink while on your laptop, than no, you don't need one.

I'm a sucker for a good cup of coffee so I bought a keyboard cover. You can barely tell it's on by looking at it. What bothers me is the extra force necessary to push down the keys.

Well, I recently F'd up and spilt tea all over my Macbook Pro keyboard. I did a good job cleaning it but when I was putting all the keys back on I broke the F B and , keys. No big deal though I just ordered some replacement keys online.

After all that trouble I decided to get one of these silicone keyboard covers to protect me from spills and grime getting on/inside the keyboard,

But someone told me that his friend used a keyboard cover and it fried his Macbook b/c he said the fans suck air in through the keyboard and it overheated causing it to fry. He also said that the Apple manual says to not cover the keyboard with anything.

So should I get one of these?
I regularly spill things on my MacBook Air and couldn't live without my keyboard cover. I drink tea all day long, when inside, and have a big dog who comes up behind me, pushes me and everything goes flying. I would estimate I would have had to replace my computer at least a dozen times if it weren't for my keyboard cover. I thank God for it everyday.
