Mixed memory in my mid 2011 27 iMac?

Right now I have the stock 4GB which is 2 2GB sticks.

I have 2 slots open. I was thinking of ordering two 4GB sticks from crucial.

Is it ok if I do this? Or do all the sticks need to be the same capacity?

I have this exact same setup, even have crucial branded modules. As long as you use a pair of 4GB modules you should have no noticeable issues. Ideally you would want 4X4GB modules for memory controller optimization but it should work fine for you.
