is it best to use a standard account rather than admin

hi all
someone told me its best to use a standard account instead of a admin account for every day usage as its better for security reasons on my new MBP. They say u can always install apps on a standard account. Whats everyone view on this?

Btw, I run only one or two accounts per machine, so it's an admin account most of the time anyway.
I know what I download and I know which websites I look at.

I have everything set up to ask for my password (including the System Preferences), so I don't use a Standard Account.

OS X Will ask you to authenticate prior to doing anything drastic.

But being an IT guy I just find it a good security practice to elevate as necessary and not always.
