It probably depends where you live. I'd buy directly from Spark in NZ to get it on day one, as opposed to buying from Apple and waiting for it to come across from Australia.
Good point - everything I've been describing has been US-centric.

I'm myopic like that. :(

If you are concerned about preorderung....

Use the Apple Store online through an ios device.

Historically this has proves to be the
In the end, it really doesn't matter.

With that said, people preordering sometimes had issues with the carrier's website, handling the preorder from start to finish, where is the Apple site seemed to handle the traffic better.

But do note.

There has been, in the past, bog downs on all sites handling preorders. The one thing that has worked for me on the last couple,of launches for iPhone, and the APPLE watch, is going through an iOS device and the Apple Store app when all other avenues have no access.

Seriously? I've had Verizon reps get physically mad and slam their tablets because I wouldn't buy a $49.99 accessory I could get on Amazon for $4.99. Never had an Apple rep do this. I'll never ever set foot in a Verizon store again.

I find this hard to believe. My local Verizon place here in Vegas do not push customers to buy accessories. They do the run down and if you don't want anything they go with getting you in and out as painful as possible.

Was in and out of the Verizon store in7 mins when I bought my iPhone 6s.

Sorry, but awful CSR's are norm, and it's been widely testified to. In-store CSR's (of all carriers) are the absolute worst. Sometimes it's their fault, sometimes it's the policies', and it can be a mixture.

Glad your experience has been better, but it's definitely the exception and not the rule.

This year i'm doing it from the Apple store. My Birthday was last week and I have £800 in Apple gift cards burning a hole in my pocket :)

I got my 6 from a carrier (Vodafone UK) and got it on launch day, but many didn't. Bought a 6s last year from Apple as the other half wanted a new phone (she got my 6).

The experience is better online for me from Apple. Also as some have said, do it on an iOS device as I remember when the AW came out, the website crashed, but the phone was ok.

Decided to update my plan to SIM only recently so saved a bundle (about £45/month) at not having a 'free' phone so we all know where the £800 gift card is going.....

Prefer the apple store, but preordering through Verizon this year as I am on their annual upgrade plan. Hopefully I can still get it on launch day.

Can't think of a reason why you wouldn't. Millions order through VZW, ATT, & TMO's websites every year and get them on launch day.

I would think so also, just don't have much experience. It's always been really easy for me using the iOS app to order all my Apple products. I wonder if you can do the same through the Verizon app?

I wouldn't even support the company in any way, shape, or form after something like this!
