2.3 or 2.4 all the way. Purchased the 1.4 a couple days ago with 128gb. Went back yesterday to trade it for the 256. They ended up giving me the 2.4 for the same price. 1.4 ran super hot and the battery would drain pretty quick.

Thats cool, but why would they give you a 2.4 for the same price?

I ended up going to best buy and was able to get the 2.4/8/256GB for $1399. After tax and a gift card I had, it was $1355. This is a really good computer! It feels much faster than my late 2016 non Touch Bar MacBook Pro and the keyboard feels much different and it feels much better to type on than it was on the late 2016 MacBook Pro. Really happy with my choice!

Could you elaborate? Why do you think 2019 is better?
For starters, even the reviews on the 2019 2.4 versus the 1.4 show only a 5% performance difference between the two machines. Personally, I like newer in general Especially the 2019 keyboard, 2018 is problematic.

I would say, probably the lower clock speed if you're gonna use it for casual use and the higher clock rate if you're going to be doing sustained workloads. Lower clock will save battery and still stay cool, higher clock will have 2 fans to cool what is essentially the same mid 2.0-3.0 speeds if you're always doing heavy work.
