I have a 2013 rMBP running 10.14.5 and have never had any problems with Safari. Works great for me.

PC world rated the best browsers and safari was last
Firefox is great, but stores too much web junk, 1gb per game i stream
since I love Opera (Puccini wrote some of the best music ever) I use Opera as my browser, and happy!
what a fool i used to be!

after typing that opera let a ransomware page shut down my iPad, i think or MBA
so i deleted everting opera and complained, no response.
anyways
edge is snapper on the ipad, incredible on the dell xps
but safari work great on the macbook air 2010 in 2021
and syncs with my other  things there that runs the iPad
i recommend safari for mac related devices, except a 2010 itouch

Isn't this thread a little old to resurrect? About Safari on Mojave? Didn't that question get answered a LONG time ago?

So I had a 2013 15" rMBP and it was starting to slow down, had a bad battery etc... bought a brand new 15" mbp core i9, vega 20.. all the bells and whistles... Safari still sucks... Overall super slow on facebook and reddit especially which makes up the majority of my web activity... Chrome is smooth as expected.

Anyone else experience brutal performance with safari on the latest OS? Been like this since the release of Mojave..
Buy a current Mac, and update your OS. Simple.

Or use Windows.

Is this a joke?

not if it is still the case in 2022-- which it is-- and people are looking for help

You might start a new thread that can focus on your specific issues. They are likely to get lost in this long and old thread where most of the comments are not relevant. Since most people don't seem to be having trouble, you might need to provide a little more detail on what you are experiencing.

Still running Mojave and Safari is fine for the most part. I've only had a couple of issues. A bank website I need to use was "remodeled" and won't play nice with Safari anymore. I use Firefox on that site. My complaint is with the bank's technology group, not with Safari. They could fix it if they wanted to. Also, I was attempting to make a charitable donation and it wouldn't process, so I made the donation by phone. The person I spoke with was impressed with my effort and wanted to know about the problem. I don't know if they've tried to fix it.

Punctuation can be your friend. Also, distant relative to ee cummings?

Now that you-all brought it up . . .

. . . I switched from S to F back when I was heavy into R (long-past my extraction from FB).

I believe it was the subjective memory-constraints that moved me further into F.

[psot'ing in S]

Not really jarring; nothing deprecating.

I just switched-over from F to S, to keep this thread rolling ;)

Actually, one of the main reasons that I regularly choose to use F, is that I live a lot of my life in the linux/bsd world ;)

Though S is extremely performant--and quite svelte--X-platform is a big consideration for me.

Nevertheless: even though the left-side-of-tab 'x' doesn't contribute-well to my muscle-memory, S is a nice browse.
