So, as I stated, I have the 9C81.

Today, after my computer had been asleep through the night, I woke it up only to see that I had the vertical line problem. Not terrible, but enough that would bug me had I had to deal with it.

So, in an attempt to talk myself out of what I was seeing, I shut it down completely, took a shower, came back, and wham. All gone.

So, what's causing this problem? OSX getting confused about something? The screen gets confused?

Do we have any conclusive evidence of the problem yet?

Matte and calibrated, my screen looks great its flawless (touch wood)

on a white bacground doesnt the shadows of the toolbar or windows dont blend out nicely? you can see where it ends? i got thesame model as yours and ive sent it back for replacement i had yellowing and the shadows didnt blend out nicely. my girlfriend got the 09c81 model and the screen was very much nicer than mine brighter and the shadows blend out nicely and didnt show where they ended.

I took a closer look at this and I do see where the shadows end on a white desktop background, but I also noticed that if you have another window opened under, and the shadow is on the other window it ends much more smoothly.

I'll compare with my cinema display it appears its the function of the OS and not a fault of the LCD.

I too have an 09C83 with the 1/3 yellow problem. And yes, if I put a window on top of a white background, the shadow does not fade smoothly. I think that may be the same reason why my fonts look blurry - especially near the bottom of the screen.

I have an 83 as well, but I don't understand what "the shadow does not fade smoothly" means. All Macs have shadows... Can someone take a picture? I don't have the 1/3 yellow problem. Are ALL the 83s bugged? Or is it just mine that isn't?

Mines is 9C83 and is perfect. Used that profile from the other thread and the screen now looks amazing, perfect colours.
