Is it me or the font not as clear compared to High Sierra?

I am not sure if it's me but I seem to see the font not as clear after this update.

Any suggestions or tips?

I do have a retina 5K iMac.

Even on my bookmarks the font looks thinner and lighter if that makes sense. LOL

Should work for retina and non-retina displays. The classic LCD font smoothing does no longer exist in macOS Mojave.

I would agree. Seems like they are not as clear for me as well. I have a 2018 15” rMBP with Tru Tone. Doesn’t matter if TT is turned on or off.

I am downgrading to HS this weekend.

Are you saying that once you did this it fixed your issues with "blurry" fonts in Mojave?

The fixes will help but they will not be as clear as in High Sierra as the subpixel antialiasing is gone from Mojave.

My advice would be to go back to High Sierra.

Life is much better on this OS versus this iOS inspired garbage that is Mojave.

I would just deal with it. This is how it will be going forward and it will be impossible to stay on Sierra/High Sierra forever.

The best setting for me using dark mode is to turn off font smoothing altogether. With light mode I set it to 1. Not much of a difference compared to previous OSes to be honest.

Back to old times of Linux when font rendering was suffering? Even Ubuntu Linux GUI renders fonts beautifully these days.

Apple took a big steaming one on all non-retina and external monitor users doing this.
