When I charge on my vehicle's Qi charge mat, it gets real hot and in the summer, the phone turns off due to the high temps.

I think this started with iOS 16 that charging will resume once the iPhone is back to a normal/regular temperature...

I have experienced this on my iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.7

I have an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 15.8 and it does not get the warning during charging even when it's hotter than normal...

Unrelated, I guess Apple should just keep the naming used in iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series... I find it weird to say the Plus naming after all these years... The last Plus model was iPhone 8 Plus before it was revived with iPhone 14 Plus and now iPhone 15 Plus...

Or if they do not intend to sell another mini, just 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max...

I think that safeguard has been there forever. I remember seeing that message on my iPad 3 on iOS 6 on a long drive one hot SoCal summer. The device eventually got hot enough that it shut itself down.

Maybe the 14 Pro Max just gets hotter more quickly than the 7+. Or maybe they trigger at different conditions due to hardware differences between the two models.
