You should not be concerned. There is no "normal" because every case is different. Your batter is guaranteed to to be at or above 80% health at two years. If it's not, you get a new battery for free. Everything else is "normal".

Also - charging patterns.
I never run my battery to empty, and almost never charge to 100%. Typically stay in the 30-80% interval.
My iPhone 11 battery is still at 100%, with average daily screen times of three hours or so.

this depends on how mush battery is ued
same MacBook Air user since 2010 every OS X wore the battery down.
then again we would 3 hour NHL playoff games outside on a wifi feed in 2011-2014 twice a week.
the macbook air get hardly any battery usage but still can go 2-3 hours with little video streaming.

I always kept this plugged in and don't know if we are supposed to do that with the Current models.

Before your warranty runs out, bring it to Apple store with appointment. Just tell them you're concerned about the battery. They'll connect it to diagnostic machine and check it out.

My M1 MBP is at %86 after 11 months.

I consider that normal because I use and charge mine daily ever since.

Discharge to about 20-30%, then fully charge. See if that changes things.
I have a 10 month old battery at 100% with 20 cycles, but it dropped to 97% a few months ago.
A simple discharge and full charge 'fixed' that.

If you keep your system plugged in most of the time, you might want to take a look at alDente software. It keeps the battery at your chosen percentage at all times, which for battery-life is better than having it sit at 100%. I've mine set at 80%.

My M1 Air dropped to 96% after 8 months of use.

I installed Aldente and the max capacity hasn't dropped since then. I haven't charged past 80% for couple months and I think it's really helping out.

I use Al Dente to control my charging. I’ve currently got it set to 70% with a 5% drift. The only time my battery has gone above 70% is when I charge it to 100% and then take it with me for my hospital visits. Last time I checked battery health it was at 99%.

Do you use it with an external display and have it charged at 100% all the time? Mine's plugged in almost all the time.

I lost quite a bit of battery health until installed Al Dente and set it at 50%.

Forgot to add that I’m running my Macbooks in clamshell mode ~90% of the time - plugged into monitors. That is when I feel it is neccessary to not let the charging go to 100% every day.

11 months since purchase - 92% battery maximum capacity - 155 cycle counts
I called Apple tech support and they checked and confirmed that I should simply continue using my Macbook 2020 M1 as normal. This condition is normal as per their understanding as Macbook M1s are designed to last 1000 cycle counts.

There really is no big deal with the battery, since it's also very cheap to replace it. Just keep using it the way you want and when it becomes too bad, just get it replaced for cheap.

Many more cycles but battery is 100% today (8 mo old M2 MBA) used mostly on battery. Aldente set at 80% Max and 20% Min.
