Are they good for running?

Very bad for running. Your equilibrium will be completely thrown off from the green light of the heart sensor. Don't ever let your heart rate exceed 90bpm with a stainless Apple Watch.

Good thing you checked here first, that could have been a disaster.

Yes. I like it better than running with my old Garmin Forerunner 410, too.

I have both the Sport and SS model.

The Sport model is much easier to see in direct sunlight than the SS. I usually wear the Sport model on days that I am going to run for that reason. Other than that, there isn't much of difference .. the SS is slightly heavier but it isn't really noticeable.

You can use the SS for running, but the lighter Sport version with the superior screen for outdoor viewing is a better option. I sold my SS for the Sport version for the lighter weight and better screen visibility, though I primarily run with a Garmin.

Ive been using a couple of different gps watches throughout the years and my SBSS is great - even run without my iPhone quite a lot (don't listen to music and know the route I'm going - scary precise without the phone)
