Just curious for those MBP owners. This is what I really like about the Air with having no fans and no vents. I just put the Air to sleep before putting it into a sleeve or bag and I never shut it off (less wear and tear). How is it with the Pro? Im worried it will get hot in the sleeve or bag if you don't completely shut if down?

Not a concern as long as there isn't an application running which is preventing it from entering sleep mode.

Windows laptops are another story...

I think you still run some risk on a MBAir, with only passive cooling, if it for some unknown reason decides to wake up while completely enclosed in a bag.

I've never bothered shutting down my M1 Max 32/1TB 16" before bagging it in a neoprene zipper pouch. It's slept from here in the midwest USA to Zurich and back without problems ;)

Since updating to an M1 Pro in 2021 and most recently an M4 Pro, I just put them in my bag in sleep mode. Never had an issue with the device overheating or waking up.
