Is it possible for a virus to get on network via mac?

I know that macs are less susceptible to viruses, particularly through web-surfing. My question is though can a website give your network (or other computers on the network) a virus/malware from your internet activity on your mac?

No current viruses but there is a variety of ad/malware that can be offered and accidentally/inadvertently installed by the user...

Only if you install it. Current malware for Mac`s generally attempts to trick the user into installing it. If you want to be more certain/reassured try ClamXav and AdwareMedic.
