Hi,

I dropped my 2017 rMBP to my local Genius Bar yesterday because of the famous keyboard issues. I also talked about my other complaints such as the keyboard scratching the display and the clicking sound on the bottom case. When I asked the genius how long will it take approximately, he responded as 3-5 days. It was reasonable since a bunch of parts were due to change and the country I live in has only 2 Apple Stores. However, I got an email today telling that my devices repair has been completed and it’s ready for pick up. This notice kind of bugged me up because I wasn’t expecting to get my computer back until weekend. Is there a possibility that they didn’t even repaired it due to an issue? If so, how can I learn it? The store doesn’t take phone calls.

Can you not just go up to the store and get your computer back and see what they did to it while you're there? I mean, isn't that what anyone would do? I would.

There are keymarks on almost every MacBook I have owned. I think the display hits if you put it in a backpack and put a book on it. The worse ones I have see are from people that put a cloth or something on their keyboard. Makes the almost non-existent gap, really non-existent. So perhaps they did not address that.

As far as the keyboard replacement, that is often a top case replacemet (keyboard, trackpad, battery, and Al case where your hands rest). One unit glued together and pretty quick for an experienced tech to replace.

So I would just go get the system and see if the keyboard is fixed.
