I really need the high bitrate video recording
even if it's only on the most expensive model.

Even 256GB iPhone 14 Pro can do well over 1GB/sec write. If there’s any limitation, it will be artificial, similar to how Apple artificially restricts 128GB from ProRes.

No: Not 100% positive but the drop from 8gig of ram to 6gig sort of doesn’t bode well for 8K. If they did have it, why not give it to the 14PM?

I only consider 8K useful for crops to 4K and the iPhone lenses are probably not up to the task - unfortunately.

Now watch me be wrong. 🤣

Also, I am watching the feature commentary of “Bullitt”. The director was saddled with ordinary film, in other words no fast film and a nightmare to work with for on location shoots. He also liked long lenses. Check out the “Manchurian Candidate” commentary which is nothing but lenses used.

If you are not using 8K for crops in documentaries then you need to improve your technique. Try using Digital Betacam in a HD timeline and reach broadcast standards - they will give you a cheat sheet on their thoughts.

Filmmakers never had it so good. 8K - who needs skill…. But that is just me.

Does it make sense to have 8k recording with such small sensor?

Also I doubt we will see 8k with stabilisation.
