I would like to see a 15c since they did a 5c. It's like asking if Apple is going to use a plastic chassis on the iPhone 15.
Transparant aluminum. My Glocks use a plastic chassis!
Do many people use a screen protector? I don’t and haven’t seen any on anyone else’s phone in a while. I haven’t found it necessary as long as you don’t put your phone and keys in the same pocket. 😊I very much doubt it as sapphire crystal is far too brittle in drops. It is different on a watch screen as its unlikely to be dropped.
When you consider the softer glass currently used is used in conjunction with a screen protector by the vast majority of iPhone users, having a sapphire crystal display is expensive and unnecessary,

Sapphire is hard and resist scratches but it is much more likely to crack and shatter when dropped and the toughened “gorilla glass” that Apple uses. Sapphire is more expensive and less transparent than glass. For how much we pay for these chinese built devices they should have sapphire standard
Based on watches I’ve owned, sapphire is very very strong, and if it wasn’t for the ultra having sapphire I wouldn’t have a Apple Watch

For a small display like the watch where scratching is more likely than dropping, it makes sense but not on a phone.
Go ahead and show us a production method of producing enough Sapphire to cover millions of units per quarter (let alone processing them into screens). For how much we pay for these chinese built devices they should have sapphire standard

You can’t, because sapphire production at the scale required for the iPhone line simply doesn’t exist on the planet.
I don’t know of anything other than a egg that’s more prone to cracks than the junk they make the expensive iPhone screens out of
Gorilla Glass

Any glass, sapphire or otherwise can crack if you drop it on the concrete.
Watches and phones are very different scenarios Due to the size and thickness.Yeah I’m just not buying it
I’ve had some HARD hits on sapphire watches and never seen a scratch, I’ve dropped iPhone under 12” into soft surfaces and had them crack
“Gorilla glass” needs to be named “eggshell glass”

Having said that, it is clear that you are not interested in the facts. If you just want to vent about dropping your phone, go ahead. I’m no longer following this thread.
You are kidding, right? Admittedly, smartphones have struggled with screen breakages in the past but the last few years have seen massive improvements. It used to be common to see people with broken screens on phones but I've not seen anyone with a broken phone screen for probably four years now. Not just talking about iPhones but any smartphones.I don’t know of anything other than a egg that’s more prone to cracks than the junk they make the expensive iPhone screens out of
