Is it possible to check SSD (Samsung or Toshiba) without registering the MBA?

Samsung:27.2 MB/s 4k random read

Note that that was a QD3 test (3 queue depth), and there's where Samsung drive shine. If you compare just 1 queue depth random read, Toshiba is indeed a little better though no by a lot. When you have bunch of queued random read commands you can see Toshiba is falling behind.

Will the end user notice the differences? Most probably no.

Note that the above comparison is Samsung 470 versus Kinston V+, NOT Apple SSDs. Those used by Apple might have different firmware, but I *guess* the controllers are the same since the speed basically match the 470/V+ on both Samsung/Toshiba respectively.
