You aren't going to get a virus downloading an app from the MAS. There are no viruses in the wild for OS X or iOS 8.

There are no viruses in iOS or OS X. However, it is possible to get adware or malware, if one gets apps outside of the MAS or developer website.

I don't think so. Apple App Store is a pretty safe place to download apps. You might get a virus from unofficial sites though.
