My 4,1 Mac Pro like most towers of that vintage doesn't have an Airport card. I've been dabbling with getting a generic Mini PCIe 802.11n card from eBay to stick in the vacant slot, but then I got to thinking, why not the 802.11ac card from the current Macbook Air?

Is there any reason as to why this card won't/can't fit in my Mac Pro?
I believe that the card in the Air has 2 antenna.

I know that the card has been retrofitted to the rMBP, but I am unaware of anyone who has fitted one to a Mac Pro.
My google searching has been unable to even unearth anyone selling the 802.11ac airport cards (genuine or generic so far)

Anyone with access to these parts that would be able to give a definitive answer?

EDIT: After looking at some close up pictures of the Airport cards in the MBA and MP, it appears that the PCI connectors are different. There are more pins in the MP than in the MBA, so I assume that they are not compatible.
