I was wondering based on the Microsoft Surface Studio, where they have this circular input device "Surface Dial" that you can stick on that slips if your hand is not on it.

This made me wonder, if you had magnets, or a magnetized monitor display... you could potentially stick the Surface Dial on, and it would just lock in place and not slip around. Though what I am wonder is, is that even possible or do magnetism and monitors just don't go together for some scientific reason?

Since there is very very little steel or iron on lcd/led monitors there is nothing for magnets to stick to or to magnetize. Old crt monitors images would distort around magnets.

Apple used to use magnets to attach the iMac screen so I'd imagine it's possible!!
