Is it possible to make certain Mail folders not sync like with the iOS Mail?

At the start of each year, I archive all of the past year's emails on my iCloud account into a folder, is it possible for me to stop these folders from syncing and only download emails when I actually click the folder on my Mac?

If not, will this be a feature in Mavericks?

Over 500 views and not a single person can say that it's not possible?

It is possible. While in Mail click the Mailbox menu then New Mailbox and click "On My Mac" like in my screen shot. That will make a local mail storage folder that will not be part of iCloud. Then just drag the messages into the new folder.

This folder will not be synced to your iCloud mail and it will not be viewable on other devices. All the messages in that folder will be stored on your local hard drive only, so make sure you have the drive backed up.

That's not really how I want it, I want it to be on the server and be accessible from all my devices, it's just that I don't want it syncing to my Mac, much like it works on iOS; it doesn't load emails unless you click the folder.

    But thanks anyway.
