For a custom paint job it'll probably cost about the same as buying an actual ceramic anyway.
Plus these days, you can buy a used ceramic edition for a cheap price. I've had mine for sale on Craigslist for a few months now and can't get rid of it. I've lowered the price to $500 and no one is interested. Buy a used one and be have the real thing.

You can try selling your ceramic Edition on the forum marketplace. You likely won’t receive the price you’re asking or might have to Lower it, but you will find more tech oriented enthusiasts.

I just have no way to transfer money from PayPal to my bank account. Paypal banned my account # several years ago. I had a second account for a year to get around that ban but I closed it last Spring. I just deal with Craigslist now.

If you can find a local Cerakoter, I would go that route. It will look great if you get someone who knows what they are doing. Cerakote is ceramic based and extremely durable, it's very popular with firearm enthusiasts since it doesn't scratch or wear easily.

The sucky part will be disassembling or finding someone who will, but that particular coating is perfect for this scenario.

IF you can find someone who would take the watch apart, it's still going to cost hundreds, and there will be issues because the crown and side button openings can't be Cerakoted. Actually, even if you take out the display and internals, I don't know whether you can remove/reinstall or, alternatively, mask, the digital crown area, which probably has waterproofing seals. I think you're miles better off just buying a new S3 ceramic.

The painting is the easy part, price may be a bit much I guess (most places I’ve seen have a $100 minimum) but still less than buying a ceramic. You do bring up a good point on reassembly/masking issues - I know Cerakote is a very thin coating but with something toleranced as tightly as an Apple casing along with waterproofing measures it’s probably still too thick.

I've had tolerance problems with hardware that's been Cerakoted...I've never taken an AW apart, but I'm guessing that even if you could find someone who would strip the case entirely and reassemble the watch correctly (and guarantee that it would be water-proof), tolerances could be a problem without careful masking in several places (not just the crown and side button, but around the heart sensor and the display area of the case, too). Dunno...the OP's idea seems like an expensive way to cause a lot of potential problems. YMMV. ;)

Personally for me I'd pay up to around $200 USD. Much cheaper than buying a new watch with internals that don't provide any performance benefits. Cellular for me is a joke because why would I buy a watch with cellular that only works in the country I bought my phone/contract. Lunacy.

This is a bit silly. I don’t know your personal situation but I would say for most people, they are usually based on one country. Even if you consider Europe where maybe you commute from one country to another, im guessing people would take their phones with them. If that’s the case, you’re not even using your watch LTE. I wouldn’t buy LTE because I’m seldom without my phone and I don’t see the added cost to be worth the few times I’m separated from my phone. But the country excuse, unless your an athlete who travels to many countries and doesn’t want to run/swim/whatever with their phone on them, i think complaining that it doesn’t work in other countries is a pretty lame complaint.

Reference the bolded in your post, that’s not accurate at all. Purchasing a new Watch with updated internals does provide performance benefits. In comparison, the Series 3 has a 70% speed increase over the Series 1/2 and audible Siri. Take in consideration with software updates, load times with applications, powering on and off are all increased with the Apple Watch. Also it’s a much more fluid experience with the updated performance.
