My letter 'T' now requires me to smash it hard to register a press on my MacBook Pro. I cleaned the key and enclosure but it still does it. Is there a way to remap or swap T with another key?

This is the only keymap application I'm aware of for MacOS: https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/

Much easier to use Ukelele, which I believe is just a GUI that does what your link does.
Yikes, I think our 2015 is the same model. It was a chunk of change at $1200. Ex husband has the same one, too.
