I had constant freezes on my Macbook Pro 2010 before.

I went to Genius Bar three times, and I got lucky on my third time cos the real culprit has been found out.

It is the lower RAM SO-DIMM slot. So for now, I can only use one slot and fill it with 4GB. It is ok for a while, but I still want to use the second slot.

So, I am wondering if I can replace only the SO-DIMM slot rather than replacing the entire Logic Board which cost like $500 USD.

Thank you

No. If you have Applecare, you should be able to get your logic board replaced for free if you can reproduce the problem consistently in front of a Genius.

thank you for your response

i just realize how useful Apple Care is when my MacBook Pro got broken...
and it was just about few weeks after it got broken..

so I cannot repair it for free 🙁
