Sorry, but can't find an answer to this elsewhere. My AppleCare just expired after the 3-year period (MacBook Pro). Now I have 45 days to sign up for either single device monthly/annual, or AppleCare One.

I would like to do either the monthly or annual plans, but am I stuck with one or the other once I choose? Ideally, I might do a year to start, and go to monthly after that depending on if I'm getting a new machine around then, or else the opposite - monthly until I'm sure what my upgrade plans could be for a year or longer.

I'm wary of it expiring and then not being able to renew, in case that's only the deal when the initial coverage expires. Trying to contact Apple about this, but that's somewhat more complicated now that my initial is expired.

They'll tell you the same thing. "It SHOULD work" 🫠

I'd find it very surprising if they made any promises about what will happen in a year's time tbh.
