I'm going to say NO, probably not safe, unless the eBay seller is a reputable established seller that sells offline in actual stores.

The reason is that some iPhones described as "new" and "sealed" with "warranties" on eBay can often actually be "refurbished" and "resealed, not the original seal from an Apple factory" and "have a non Apple warranty".

I've read many experiences where users have purchase a "new" apple iPhone from eBay only to find, for example, that the battery doesn't last and that aspects of the product do not work properly. This is because they are refurbished.

If it sounds too good to be true regarding the price, it's more likely to be not a genuine brand new iPhone.
Confirm. I bought an iPhone 6s on eBay a couple years ago that was "new" in box. But didn't show Apple warranty. So i suspected refurbished.

I gave it to my BiL last year to replace a 6, and he recently broke the screen in the extreme cold we had. The place that replaced the screen told my sister the unit had been previously worked on.

Can’t buy electronic devices from eBay, rather pay that little bit extra and save myself the headaches in case I run into problems. A lot of scumbags and dishonest people out there who don’t mind selling someone faulty products.

I have sold heaps on ebay no probs, my 11" iPad pro i got from ebay, had AC+ and just got it replaced by Apple.
Bought a brand new 12 pro max 256gb off gumtree today for $1500AUD cash, it's on ebay. Buyer will save about $200 off new price if they have ebay plus. 10% off is not too bad.

Another one 😂 how much you flipping it for?
Must be making a killing at the moment.

I know there is bargains on eBay, what turns me off is when you hear people who got scammed or bought a faulty product.

I do it as i enjoy the hunt and selling not so much about the dollars, helps with a few odds and ends though.

So tempted to open it and use it haha, if i do would only get back what i paid being used, there is a few on there for around the same price so see what happens.
