I dont see a jailbreak for ios7 in the near future. Ios 6 took 4 months to jailbreak and 7 isnt looking good. Is the jailbreak scene pretty much dead ?

The same thing was said last year. Actually, it was said there was never going to be a jailbreak for iOS 6 because no dev reported progress
This year, we're at least getting updates from the devs who work on the jailbreak

I seen on twitter today that a jailbreak will be out well beyond the new year and this year its out of the question
I think its fair to say it may not be out in 2013, I do not get the point though as it did not come out before the new year the past couple of JB's
I have faith, so should you. If it doesnt come, I am OK with that. It was nice while it lasted.

Actually, I will be releasing a JailBreak for iOS 6.1.2 later this week, so its alive and well!
There is already a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.2..
These posts make my laugh... why don't you stop wasting peoples time by asking unanswerable questions and go and do some research for yourselves.
There is currently a IRC channel which is trying to teach users and make the understand what it takes to jailbreak a device...
These class help you understand the tools and provide answers to questions that you might have... but you really have to be keen and willing to do alot of research yourselves if you want to get anywhere so I'm not sure how many people on these forums will fall into that category from the looks of the most recent posts

@evad3rs just tweeted last night that they're still working hard on the iOS 7 jailbreak.

I remember last year all of the panic of people saying that iOS 6 would NEVER be jailbroken, and whammo, it came out in January.
So it's just a matter of being patient.
