In a van down by the river
I am receiving my Apple Card on Tuesday and wanted to know if anyone has had any problems storing it in the Apple MagSafe wallet. Apple support documents state using with a leather case can discolor the card and storing it next to a magnet can demagnetize the card strip.

Yes, since there is no magnetic strip to worry about you can store it anywhere. Best place is in the Apple Wallet App though. That's what it was designed for.

Thanks for the reply. I have it in the app already. I was going to also carry it to use it when Apple Pay isn't accepted.

It's chip pay only-- there's no magnetic stripe, no tap to pay, no card number/security code/expiration date/signature line. It has your name and a chip, Apple logo on the front and a Goldman Sachs logo on the back.

It does have a discoloration along one long end where you'd expect to find a mag strip but don't. I'm guessing that was an aesthetic decision.

I‘m an idiot. I never realized that’s a functional mag strip…

I don't see any reason to carry an Apple Card on your person - if you're not getting 2% (or 3% at Apple) by using Apple Pay, you should be using a different card.

What are you all talking about? The Apple Card has a magnetic strip - it’s along the bottom on the back. It’s not chip only.

Yeah, you’re right. All this time I was sure I’d read it didn’t have a working strip…

@Apple_Robert , just making sure you picked up the correction...
