Originally I came from a SGS5, returned it due to faults, got an iPhone 6, returned two models with screen issues. Currently waiting to purchase another one in a few weeks or so and hopefully it won't have quality issues.

My question is this: I currently do not have a phone and after reading some potential features of the iPhone 6s/7 today, I'm wondering if it's worth purchasing the 6 at all?

I could buy a cheaper phone like a moto G and wait out for the 7/6s. I understand that no matter when I buy a phone that a new one will be coming out soon after but I just am not sure if the iP6 is worth getting? I was pretty un-impressed with the battery life but the 6+ was too big for me to justify buying.

Opinions? Thanks.

Of course it's worth it.

Also, if your screen had issues, why did you return them vs getting them fixed through warranty?

Because I went through two with loose (clicky) displays. Obviously a QC issue. Wanted to wait a few batches after hopefully improved.

Are you sure the 6+ might be too big for you? I thought so myself, I've had it for 4 days and it's not as big as I originally thought. Take it home and try it; you do have 14 days to return it.

I'm pretty sure its too big haha plus it may bend?

On a side note I have an $80 anti radiation case for the 6 so it makes sense to stick with that I guess

Of course it is worth it, its a brilliant phone and has only been out THREE months. ;)

You'll not be seeing any new phones for 9 months, are you willing to wait for the 6s? If so then wait, if not then get the 6. Its still a newly released phone and asking if for the next gen seems rather odd to me.

I think that you should buy the 6 now. There is no guarantee that the 7 will have features so unique that you need to own it. And if they do then you can always resell your 6. iPhones hold their resale quite admirably.

Buy! Enjoy and sell it next year if you want. If you get a unit with a clicky display take it to the genius bar with all of the included accessories. If they can fix it and there's no issue, keep it. Otherwise you can return for an exchange/refund. White box replacements are perfectly fine IMO but if you find any other issues it makes returns a little more time consuming.

I'm curious about the anti-radiation case. It must be a little bulky being lined in lead, no? What are you doing on a regular basis where you receive such a high dose of radiation that it affects your phone?

Seriously though, don't play the "what if there's a better feature next release" game. There's always going to be a better feature. Just buy a phone and enjoy it, then sell it and upgrade later if you want.

The OP has decided the lead poisioning is better than cancer :D

There's always something better/newer/etc. around the corner. The iPhone 7/8 or Samsung Galaxy S6/7 is going to have features the current phones do not. If you keep waiting, you'll be waiting forever.

Plus, at this point they're all rumors. Some could be true, some could be not true. We don't know for sure.

Buy it now. iPhone 6S will look just like iPhone 6.
I would buy now and wait for iPhone 7.

You should not buy any more phones. You are too picky.

----------

The 6S will be out late summer 2015.
Or early fall like this year. But by the time there was enough inventory to get the model/color you wanted, it was mid-fall for most people.

If a product I buy has an issue, I don't accept it. If you are one to accept a phone with dead pixels, a loose screen, then so be it. I'm not going to pay $1000 for a faulty item.

this is the type of guy that comes to the apple store with a piece of tape alongside the iSight camera on his mac, lol. Radiation case.

You're obviously too picky on your phone thinking that an LCD should have NO dead pixels.

If I were you, I'd wait for the iPhone 9S. It will be the best iPhone ever and all the quality control issues will be corrected by then. Trust me, I got this from the best sources.
