The update yesterday did not fix the problem at all. It's happening more than ever for me. Verrrrrry annoying and causes me to miss photo opportunities because it'll respring when I hit camera button. It seems only a select few of us are having this problem so maybe they're defected??

It's happened to me a couple times using the camera also. Set up phone as new when I got this phone. Haven't updated to 10.0.3. I'll probably wait till 10.1 to update. Hopefully 10.1 fixes it?

What model iPhone?
My 7 plus never had such crashes.
You tried an iTunes restore and setup as new phone?
going to try this when I get home today.. I called apple and that was their recommendation.

Do I need to use iCloud Photo Library in order to recover all my photos if setting up as new phone?

Stop assuming and do a restore and setup as new.
99% it's a software bug.
How do I get contacts and notes back if doing restore and setting up as new? Also, do I have to keep iCloud Photo Library on after I get my photos back on phone?

Go to your iCloud settings and make sure iCloud photo library, notes, and contacts are all toggled on. Also make sure your phone is backed up before doing a restore.

Once you do a restore and set up as new, sign into your iCloud and you should get your contacts, notes, and photos back

You can transfer them back with iCloud.
But if your iTunes backup contains software bugs you will continue to have the same issues if you don't want to setup as new.
Understood. Thanks. I'm backing up photos to iCloud now. 11GB to go.. :(

Once I restore and get photos back, Will I be required to keep iCloud photo library on?

Restored and no restarts yet... got all photos and contacts back. Thanks for all the help!

When I click on my videos, they have to "load" before playing.. is that because they're on the cloud and not my device? How do I change that?

I'd like to add that I'm having the same issue on my 6S and 7. The 6S was restored from a backup while the 7 was set up as new.

The respringing happens a few times a day, only when trying to swipe down to see notifications or swiping from the left to see my widgets.

That's not the same issue.
His would turn off and need an iTunes restore each time.

Damnit. It did it again. I'm gonna call apple again tomorrow and see what they recommend
